I started on this bass thing in the late summer of 1997,  like many people, by chance. From that moment I knew that it was what I wanted to dedicate myself to and there has not been a single day that I have believed that it is not the best decision I have made in my life.

From the beginning I have been a self-taught musician, which has involved a lot of time, a lot of searching and a lot of work.

In 2002 I felt that I was ready to start sharing what I had learned with other people, and since then I have combined live music and recording with teaching.

It's almost 20 years as a teacher, and I think I have learned as much about this (and this) as playing. I love teaching, that's the truth. And seeing the evolution of the people I teach is one of the things that most fulfills me in my musical adventure.

From my way of understanding teaching, the first step is to achieve in the shortest possible time to understand each person's way of learning ( mathematical, logical, creative, analytical, intuitive ...) to get as far as possible in the shortest possible time. and make it an exciting and fun process.

For me it is a challenge to adapt to the interests and language of each student, to be moving forward together from the first moment.

I teach all the techniques of the instrument that I know (standard fingering, slap, double thump, tapping, palmmuted, left hand mute ...)

If you want to know what a class is like with me, I consider that my style is close and adapted to each person, with audiovisual aids. I think the best class is the one in which there is trust, a relaxed atmosphere, and honesty.

 

Starting classes with me does not require any kind of prior knowledge. I have experience teaching people of all ages and levels, and of different interests. From people who are still managing the purchase of their first instrument, to people interested in preparing a degree,  people interested in starting a professional career or people who play simply for personal satisfaction or to prepare their own bands' repertoires. I have taught professionals with more than 30 years of careers, people who have had a work accident and have to redo their technique, people with special needs ... By this I mean that any time and any circumstance is a good place to start. .

 

Musically, I have played in bands of many different styles (rock, pop, funk, jazz, samba / bossa, country, soul ...) I love all music. It is difficult that there is a style that I do not like, at least something. Within that eclecticism I have my favorites, anyway. I grew up with the music of Béla Fleck & the Flecktones, Queen, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Motown, national rock ...

At this time I have been very concerned about having a good team and a good concept so that the online format that I offer is not a barrier, but the opposite,  so that people have a good experience, as close as possible to a meeting in person, in audio and image quality, with studio sound, lighting and different planes and cameras. What drives me to carry out this project is to be sure that I have managed to offer an experience of the same quality or more than one face-to-face class in Online format.

 

 

 

Although my work as a teacher has been mostly freelance, I have experience in study centers:

-Coordinator of teaching staff and activities, counseling, in charge of rehearsal classrooms and teacher of music and electric bass at the Escuela de Música Moderna de Narón (A Coruña) (2009-2015)
-Bass and music teacher at the RockSchool of A Coruña. (2014-215)
-Bass teacher and blues study at the Schoenberg School in Madrid  (2019)
-Bass and music teacher at the Madrid Blues School. (2016-2019)
-Nowadays, an independent tutor.

Since the end of the nineties I have been working on stage, in countless concerts throughout the Spanish and international scene with my own groups or touring with artists such as:

 

Ana Guerra , Antonio José , Andrés Suárez , Alex Syntek , Juancho Marqués, Roi Méndez , Soraya Arnelas , Miriam Rodríguez , Fredi Leis , Rozalén , Ricky Merino ... Also with other rock , pop , jazz , blues , funk, disco bands , Brazilian music and others. I feel fortunate to have worked on the best stages in this country (Wizink, Palacio de los Deportes, Liceo de Barcelona ...) and also in important festivals, such as the Blues Festival of Sta. María de las Azores (Azores, Portugal ), Elorrio Jazz Festival (Basque Country), Torreperogil Rock & Blues Festival (Jaen), Getxo Jazz and Blues Festival (Vitoria), La noche en blanco (Madrid), Ourense Blues Festival ...
